Your Funding Support is needed to evolve the innovative IPS Pro E 3-Dimension designs into virtual and physical prototype models created by 3-Dimensional Printing and Rapid Prototype technology. Go to IPS Funding Support and Rewards to contribute and receive rewards, and The IPS Shop to purchase the latest IPS merchandise.
Why your funding support is so important and its impact.
Youth, adult, amateur, and professional sports/recreation participants, as well as the physically challenged, are very vulnerable to tragic head, concussion, neck, and shoulder injuries that can lead to paralysis, early dementia, and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). See Impact Injury News and Studies and Statistics. The funding will facilitate the following product development functions that are critical to producing the innovative IPS safety equipment for retail market placement: A. Produce Virtual and Physical Prototypes
Pro E 3-Dimension designs will be used as input to 3-Dimensional Printing and Rapid Prototype technology to produce prototypes
B. Conduct Mechanical Feasibility Analysis
Parse the project into specific manufacturing, materials, manufacturing processes, etc.
C. Build a "Breadboard" Prototype
"Breadboard" is essentially a low cost model that:
1. Visually demonstrates the functionality of the product for those that can't see the vision from renderings; 2. Typically highlights unforeseen design challenges that oftentimes cannot be identified in a preliminary CAD model
D. Risk/Hazards Analysis
Analyze risks to the sports/recreation activity participants and individuals that are prone to falls;
Assess business risk to the stakeholders, manufacturer, coaches, team, school, etc. when the product is deployed;
Address the above risks in design and/or agreements with partners;
Conduct reviews of regulatory standards that cover a product like IPS and additional due diligence efforts common for a new product
E. Business Case Development and Analysis
The following Pro E 3-Dimension designs are representative of the complete set produced by product designer, mechanical engineer, and inventor (Putt Pad) Curtis Florence-DP Designs, Inc.
The prototype models will then be developed into the marketplace products that will minimize, reduce, and/or negate injuries caused by impact/collision forces and falls. In particular, head, concussion, neck, and shoulder injuries that can be devastating immediately, as in cases of paralysis (Eric LeGrand, Rutgers), as well as later in individuals' lives when early dementia or CTE (Dave Duerson, former Chicago Bears) may develop. In extreme cases, fatalities can result. IPS will secure the longevity and integrity of the following popular sports/recreation activities and help negate possible legislated and legal restrictions and actions detrimental to their existence and enjoyment: Football Hockey Skateboarding Snowboarding Cycling / Motocross / Mountain Biking Motorcycling Downhill Skiing / Ski Jumping Bobsleighing Lacrosse Bull/Bronco Riding Equestrian Sports
In addition, IPS will protect physically challenged individuals that are prone to falls.
